Your Church Choir Can Win N1Millon in Choirfest Africa Reality Show by Pastor Olumide Emmanuel!

Pastor Olumide Emmanuel, Chief Executive Officer of Common Sense Group of Companies, has said that the need to give a voice to the 'kingdom people' informed the creation of the Choirfest Africa Reality Show.
The Choirfest Africa is a Christian Talent Hunt and Reality Show aimed at creating a platform for choirs and groups to have a voice for the Kingdom.

It was discovered that a lot of solo artistes today started from singing in a choir but gave up for solo singing, hence Choirfest Africa was created as a platform for...
believers to have a voice and produce inspirational music for life. It was also aimed at encouraging and reviving the spirit of choir and group singing in the Christian society, which is fast giving way to solo singing. The show, coming on the platform of Lifeline Records was unveiled in Lagos on Wednesday.
According to a calendar released by Lifeline, registration for the reality show will open on May 19 and end on August 1, 2014. Auditions will take place on five Saturdays, with the final show expected to hold at the National Stadium, Lagos on October 4.
The First prize is N1m; Second is N500,000, while the Third prize winner gets N250,000 – all with a track album contract attached.
According to Pastor Emmanuel, "For decades the church has lost many of her sons and daughters to the world due to lack of viable platforms to project them. A lack of understanding of the Kingdom has made the Church lose relevance in the different spheres of life."
He added that Christians had distanced themselves from the media and politics and were now paying for this as others had taken over such platforms.
"When we should have taken over the economy, we said, 'This world is not our home' and told them to take the whole world and give us Jesus. Now we realize we need to live here on earth. When we should have taken over in entertainment we called it secular and stayed limited," Pastor Emmanuel said.
He stressed that Choirfest Africa is a talent hunt reality show aimed at creating a platform for choirs and groups to have a voice for the kingdom, adding, "Music, movies, fashion and others are messing up the next generation and Lifeline Records is set to make a difference for the kingdom."
The show is, for now, accommodating choirs and groups, meaning that solo acts cannot participate. On this, Pastor Emmanuel notes that apart from the fact that solo artistes have other platforms to promote them, concentrating on choirs and groups is like the unique selling point for Choirfest.
"We uniquely settled for choirs and groups because choirs seem to be dying and becoming obscure as against solo showbiz and when we all get to heaven we will be choir member. So, why not keep the fire alive?"
