You Won't Believe This! Pastor Deitrick Haddon Explains Why Ge Got Drunk In Strip Clubs And Impregnated His Girlfriend

And he's called a Pastor, right? Don't hold your breath because Deitrick Haddon, gospel singer-songwriter, music producer, and pastor, might have some good reasons after all. He explained that the lows he went through after separating from his first wife, Damita, helped him come up with the idea for Oxygen networks’ reality TV show “Preachers of L.A.”

In a recent interview, Haddon admits that he was on a “war against God” and he would do anything other than what he should be doing, because he felt neglected and betrayed by the people who...
were supposed to be there for his support. He adds that he did things that were incompatible with his character, such as going to strip clubs, drinking alcohol and impregnating his new girlfriend.

Haddon claims that when he was at an all-time low, he received a call from an old friend and fellow preacher, Zachery Tims, who had gone through many problems of his own, according to Haddon. He adds that instead of asking Tims how he was doing and offering to help him if he could, he poured out his own troubles and discussed the possibility of coming up with a reality TV show.

Haddon continues that he thought no more about the idea of a reality show until he heard about the death of Tims from a drug overdose in a New York hotel room. He adds that this was when he realized he had been so caught up in his own issues that he didn’t hear a friend who had obviously been reaching out for help.  His solution?  Create a reality TV show.

After the success of its first season and the start of a second, Haddon believes that the original idea to show preachers as normal human beings with similar problems has worked. He adds, however, that they don’t work out their problems like normal people, because their inspiration comes from God, or so they say.

Believing that they are correct in their thinking because their ideas come from the Almighty can cause interesting confrontations on the show, according to Haddon. He adds that each one of the stars thinks he is divinely inspired and this might not concur with what the others believe.

Being an executive producer of the show, Haddon says he delights in these confrontations and often eggs the other preachers on. After all, it’s good for viewer ratings and the show is not meant to portray these preachers as being perfect individuals, said Haddon.

What do you think?  Is Haddon truly redeemed from his behavior or is he searching for excuses to be a normal celebrity living the fast life?  What happens when a man is in front of the church who possesses so many extreme behavioral problems?  Is that person’s soul clean enough to lead others to righteousness or will he use that power for his own purposes?
