In their attempt to attract more members to the church, a local church in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania decided to introduce sex into the church service by putting up a billboard that says, "I Love Sex". Well according to my source, the church was getting fed up with seeing so few new members come to their services, with so many of them people flocking to night clubs, bowling alleys and entertainment centers. So they decided to advertise.
However, the way the Restored Church chose to try to bring people to their congregation has...
drawn criticism from other churches and leaders, because they purchased billboard space for ads that would read “I love sex.” At the bottom of this quote was the simple word “GOD” suggesting that the inspiration for the billboard came from Him.
The billboards, displayed along Route 309, also advertise that the church will be beginning a new sermon series on the controversial subject, usually avoided by most congregations, based on the Song of Solomon starting in September.
According to Restored’s pastor, Dan Nichols, their church has been meeting for about a year and they only have a congregation of about 100 members. He adds that by talking about the natural human desire to mate, they are only doing what the rest of the world is doing outside of the congregation.
Nichols told local television station WNEP that “It’s in every single sitcom. It’s on the radio. I mean, you go on any major news media outlet and there are stories about s*xuality.” He continued, “If the culture can be so bold, I think the church can be so bold and speak directly on the subject and be up front about it.”
Although some people find the billboards amusing, considering their origin, others are not so pleased that Nichols is using worldly desires to entice people into coming to his church.
In a letter to the Times Leader, Vincent Boyle, pastor of Church on the Square, wrote that what the church doesn’t need is shock and awe to draw people to God. He added that while he believed Nichols meant well, he should leave this kind of advertising to people who are trying to sell clothes or cars.
Boyle further wrote that the church is supposed to be set apart from worldly desires and temptations and they should not be following what the rest of the world does by advertising God as a commodity. He added that if people need to declare about God on billboards, they should stick to Biblical principles because only the truth would set people free from the bondage of sin.

I think they have good reasons kos thats exactly what we are doing here in Ghana. We package sex in everything we do to attract members.
This is very funny. I kinda of like the concept.

Must we use sex to attract pple to church? where is the place of Holy Spirit? I don't like this at all.
This shouldnt be on a signboard if i may suggest. They can make a newsletter and put it on it with a detail story and what they mean by that cos some pple will crticise the church for this
End of discussion, sex is everywhere. next u will see I love having sex.
