Is Foursquare Church Facing Same Crises As Assemblies of God Church? Pastor Adeyemi Says The Accusation Is A Plot Against Him Becoming The Next General Overseer!

I just confirmed the crises that took place at the Livingspring Tabernacle, one of the branches of Foursquare Gospel Church in Ikorodu, Lagos State last Sunday when some armed policemen from Zone 2, Onikan stormed the church premises during the service to arrest Pastor Issac Adeyemi for forging a signature, obtaining a loan of N65million and diverting it for his own personal use - an allegation he strongly denied.

It will interest you to know that these armed policemen were sent from the National Level of Foursquare Church to arrest the resident pastor..

I also gathered that Pastor Adeyemi explained and disclosed to his members that the problem he was experiencing was a fallout of his contest for the post of the General Overseer of the church with the present G.O of which he said wasn’t his idea to contest but for the...
nomination by the stakeholders.

He revealed that the money that he was accused of borrowing with a forged signature wasn’t at the first instance the amount they are accusing him of, but a N65million loan which was acquired legally and with the consent and signatories of relevant members of the church council that judiciously used for the purpose it was meant for.

Pastor Adeyemi also revealed that he never got a dime from the national level in the construction of the magnificent building that is situated in a swampy area stating that it was built solely by the efforts of the congregation.

A female member of the church who pleaded anonymity, described the armed policemen that were sent from the National Level to arrest the pastor as wicked and corrupt.

She said and I quote, “they should first of all account for the whole money they are collecting from different districts of the church before coming to ask for the account of this church. These people all fly first class seats to USA and other countries and their children are all studying abroad.”

She continued, saying.... "Go to our camp, it is nothing to write home about and nothing to be compared with other churches’ camps despite the volume of money that is collected in the church. Recently, some students
who went with their teachers to the camp had an accident on their way back and the church didn’t do anything.”

According to reports, the officials and policemen who came at about 10:30am in a bus were unable to gain entrance into the church as the congregation barricaded the gate, making it impossible to arrest Pastor Adeyemi.

To make the matter worse, Pastor Adeyemi’s 25-year-old son is already in custody of the police since last Saturday morning after they went looking for him at his residence and did not find him and he is still in police custody at the Zone 2 Police Station, Onikan, Lagos.

Some church members who barricade the gate were hurling insults at the national officials while pelting them with satchet water.

They were also holding placards which read: “Stop this intimidation now; We support our pastor, Rev. Adeyemi; Give us Peter Adeyemi now; Embrace, equals evangelism and soul winning; Don’t address us, go and address your family” and so on .

They later left the premises amidst wild jeer from the congregation.

If members of Foursquare Gospel Church are not watchful and prayerful, they might be facing the same crises as Assemblies of God Church judging by the way Pastor Issac Adeyemi Explains His Side of Story.

Seriously, I see no reason why son of a man who has pastor in your church for years be arrested and locked up. Even if he embezzled the money it shouldnt have come thus far.

Let's just pray because I don't know what to say on this matter. We all need serious prayer in this country self. I'm tired.

Why would the man of God think it's as a result of his fallout with the contest of G.O? I still dont understand.

It's simply now. Let him just appear in court and let the matter be dealt with headon instead of hiding him cos it's making him look more guilty. Men of God dont hide, not even from telling the truth.
