Ebenezer Baptist Church Charged N750 Gate Fee For Sunday Service Worship, Visitors Pays N1500!
Mt Ebenezer Baptist Church just introduced a controversial plan to charge an admission fee to attend their Sunday morning service.
It was revealed that the fee was a direct result of church members and visitors not giving enough offering to keep the doors open.
The Church's pastor, Rev. James Lamont, spoke with local news station WSTV saying, "We realize charging members to attend church would...
not be a popular decision, however it was necessary to remain operational. There is a lot that goes on to make these services happen. Without a sufficient amount of donations, the church would have to operate at a loss. We are in the business of saving souls, but we are also a business.
Salaries and bills have to be paid. Saving souls ain't cheap."
Members of Mount Ebenezer Baptist Church will be allowed to pay a discounted yearly membership fee ($60.00), while visitors will pay $10 at the door. The church says they will also offer a $25 family discounted admission fee (up to four family members). Entrance to the church will be free on all days except for Sunday worship service.
Children under 12 will be allowed to enter the church without paying.
Reverend Lamont says the fee was made reluctantly, but after 6 straight months of having to operate the church with his own personal funds, it became necessary.

Ghen ghen ghe!!! Wetin we no go see. I beg na by force make we go church
From the points the pastor gave, I think he's right to some extent o. If the members refuse to pay tithe and offering, but love to come hear the pastor preach, then they shoud be charge like cinema now! no cheating. lol
See your mouth like the pastor is right. Am sure that if they announce that you should start paying common N50 for your church, you will be the first person to leave the church.
I think the fault is from the pastor in charge. No matter how much people hate to hear giving and sowing seeds, you will still have to preach it. he should invite men of God who are good in that area and he wll see how the church members will start giving.
This is very wrong and it's not done anywhere. Pastors should be advice these pastors to stop this at once. This is the house of GOd and not a cinema.
The man of GOd need counseling. Period.
Haaaaa, the man of God said church na for business. He must be a comedian. Is this how to make money or what? He no go see church member be that now. Me ke i go find another church
