Wow, 3 Good Reasons Why Bishop Oyedepo Declared He'll Never Pay Tax! Do You Agree?

I just love this man!!! He will not pay tax and there's nothing Ogun State government or Nigeria as a whole can do about it. Lolzz.

In an interview with Reuters regarding the Forbes List of World's Richest pastors where Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel was placed at No.1 with an estimated worth of about $150million,  he justified why his Mega church will never pay tax and there's nothing any government can do about it.

He said and I quote...

“There is no single government input on this premises... We supply our water, we make our roads, then you … say: ‘Let’s tax them’. For what?” Lols.

I laughed so heard when I heard the way he defended the income generated from tithes and offerings in his mega church. Please read after the cut...

“We use the income of the church to build schools, we use the income of the church to serve the needs of the poor, and these are non-profit organizations.”

Even though, Bismarck Rewane, economist and CEO of Lagos consultancy Financial Derivatives insists Oyedepo is one of the mega pastors that “don’t submit accounts to anybody. At least six church leaders have private jets, so they have money.”

Oyedepo claimed his Corporate Affairs department has employed more than 18,000 people in Nigeria alone.

He says the wealth the church gathers is invested in expanding it, and that if he did not use a private jet, he would be unable to oversee its many foreign operations and still return to Ota every week in time for Sunday’s worship.

Asked about Forbes' estimate of his fortune, Bishop Oyedepo told Reuters that he doesn't know how Forbes arrived at their figure but says he's blessed...

"For me, to have fortune means someone who has what he needs at any point in time. I don't see myself as having $150 million stacked up somewhere. Whatever way they found their figures, I am only able to say I am blessed by the Lord."

Point of correction, if this case is prosecuted, I'm sure Bishop Oyedeop will lose because as long as students are paying school fees in your schools you're entitled to pay tax. He can't fully prove that all the school fees are channel into the school and doesn't make profit.
