REV. CHRIS OKOTIE OFFICIALLY DECLARES TO CONTEST FOR PRESIDENCY

The General Overseer of the Household of God Church, Rev. Chris Okotie has officially declared to join the 2019 Presidential race.

Rev. Okotie declared his intention to run under the platform of the Fresh Democratic Party (FDP) on Monday, during a service to commemorate Nigeria’s 58th Independence Day at the Household of God Church.

The cleric, who contested the 2007 Presidential elections and lost, called on other political parties to adopt him as a consensus candidate.

“I Did Not Date my Wife, we just got married” – Akpororo

Comedian Akpororo has described himself as an exception to the rule that two people must date or enter into a courtship before getting married

In an interview with Punch Newspaper’s Saturday Beats, Akpororo said when he met his wife, he knew he wanted to marry her and he went ahead to do that rather than beating about the bush with a relationship.

The convener of the annual Akpororo vs Akpororo comedy concert said, “I did not date my wife. We are in the same industry and she was with Explicit Dance Group. We had met on some occasions and greeted each other. We never had any period to date; I would say we started dating after we got married. Although I am a comedian, when I approached her, she took my words seriously because whenever I am serious you would easily know.

“I was already popular as of the time I got married to my wife. Some people say that once you get married, your tempo or output in the industry would drop but I do not believe that because whatever you believe would happen to your career is what would happen to it. I changed the belief that you need to date someone for a long period before you get married”

Nigeria must do more to fight poverty - Pastor Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said the recent report that Nigeria is the poorest in the world is the hypocrisy of the West against Africans.  

 

However, he said it should propel Nigerian leaders to do more in the fight against corruption and fighting poverty. According to a report by Punch, Adeboye stated this recently in Lagos at a special prayer and thanksgiving service organised by the RCCG National Headquarters, Throne of Grace Parish.  The cleric said western countries also had the “poorest of the poor” among them but oftentimes were underreported.  

 

He said, “you will move round some so-called developed countries and one will be shocked by the level of poverty that the people are experiencing.”  

 

Adeboye, who spoke through his Assistant General Overseer, Personnel and Administration, Pastor Johnson Odesola, asked, “Who is doing the categorisation of developed countries and some undeveloped countries. It is the opinion of the few people whose facts can be contested. When they talk, they talk about the things that favour them and they want us to continue in the trajectory that our system is failing so that they will continue to benefit from our failures.”  

 

Still, he urged the government at all levels to use the report as an opportunity to double their fight against the scourge of poverty and inequality ravaging our country.

Pastor Glory Idahosa, has been accused of abandoning his wife, Christabel Idahosa, in Canada and marrying a lady he introduced as his sister to his estranged wife.

 The Nigerian pastor who was said to be jobless for most part of the marriage which produced 5 kids – 4 girls and 1 boy, returned to Nigeria with his wife and kids 5 years ago and introduced them to one Splendour Patrick, he claimed was his younger sister.

However after opening a church in Canada with the help of his wife, it was gathered that the couple’s marital crisis got heightened after he returned to Nigeria in 2016 to open a branch of the church in Nigeria with money given to him by his wife and the church in Canada.

Pastor Glory Idahosa who stayed in Nigeria for months after he was given N2.8million to open the new church, returned to his family in Canada months later with the excuse that he was busy working to help the church pick up.

It was gathered that the Pastor who returned to Nigeria in June 2018, claimed that his mother died and he needed to return to Nigeria urgently and he needed to attend to some family meetings and look into the progress of the church in Nigeria.

However the Nigerian Pastor returned to the country to marry Splendour Patrick, the lady he introduced as his sister. It was further gathered they already have two sons who look to be about 5 and 3 years old. The sad act was busted last night by his wife, Christabel, who saw her husband’s Facebook page being updated with wedding photos.

While the lady who remained in Canada with their children not suspecting anything is said to be in agony, the Pastor has been dragged after his first wife’s family exposed his infidelity and he proceeded to block his in-laws on Facebook.

Pastor Glory Idahosa has also been called out by his church members in Canada who told him to close down his church in Canada, after disclosing that they’ve been trying to call him when he was gone for long but he never picked, only to discover on social media that he took another wife.
